Madisonville, KY - Installation of digital signage at New Wine Church has hampered sales for at least one local restaurant. Jim Seikaly, owner of Big Jim’s Cluck N’ Truck, reported a significant decrease in sales following the installation of the sign. He blames the financial setback on updated expectations of New Wine members; they now refuse to eat at any establishment that does not have a great outward appearance and food that meets their personal standards. “People used to come here for the food; all they cared about was getting nourished,” declared Jim. “Now, they say that the most important aspect is the atmosphere. I never thought I’d see the day when customers cared more about the vibes than they did the food.” “Things are definitely changing,” stated Carla, longtime server at Big Jim’s. “My manager told me to remove all the salt containers from the tables. Apparently, customers were nervous that seasoning with salt would leave a bad taste in their mouths. I was also told to start recommending dairy-free entree options; some diners are trying to avoid including milk in their diets. I can’t begin to tell you how many orders have been sent back because the food was “too solid” for their taste. It makes your head spin.” On a positive note, Jim has been saving money on ice due to the fact that customers are requesting all beverages be served at a lukewarm temperature.
